Feb 3-5 & 10-12 / “Steel Magnolias”

Reserve two tickets to this production at Chanticleer Theater. It’s the story of a young beautician, newly arrived in a small Louisiana town. She finds work at a local salon where a small group of women share a close bond of friendship and welcome her into their group. Tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $10 for students. Feb 8 / Gaylin Sudik Big Band

Swing and sway with your Valentine to the tunes of the Gaylin Sudik Big Band, 7-10 pm at The Center. Admission is $10 per person for non-members. Feb 11 / Sweethearts Love Nature

On Saturday, the 11th, enjoy hot cocoa and a warm fire 7-9 pm at Hitchcock Nature Center, Honey Creek. Couples are invited to take in the beautiful view from the Loess Hills Lodge at night.  Hit the trails for a special guided hike or take a more private walk along a lit trail.  The only cost to participate is the $2 vehicle daily entrance pass required to enter the park.  To participate, please register at or call 712-545-3283.

Feb 12 / The Lettermen

Find romance again listening to the hit recordings of The Lettermen.  It’s hard for members of a certain generation to forget “When I Fall in Love”, “Shangri-la”, “Put Your Head on My Shoulder”, and other timeless favorites.
