Shuffle along for a fun 5K

Originally scheduled for March 11th, it’s been rescheduled for the 18th due to the weather forecast. Get ready, set, go – for the fun. The annual Shamrock Shuffle will take place in historic downtown Council Bluffs. This 5K is designed to be easy and enjoyable for all athletic levels and ages. Families are welcome to give it a try. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in suitable St. Patrick’s Day attire.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up in suitable St. Patrick’s Day attire.  The shuffle begins at 9 am on the 100 block of Broadway.  The course runs through downtown to the RailsWest Railroad Museum, around Bayliss Park, and back to the 100 Block for more St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Not only is the Shamrock Shuffle a fun way to get dressed-up and get going, it’s another way to give back to the community. Starting in 2013, each Shamrock Shuffle has given proceeds to the TeamMates Mentoring Program in Council Bluffs.

The TeamMates’ mission is for youth to reach their full potential through mentoring.  The program was started by Tom and Nancy Osborne in 1991, and has been in the Council Bluffs Public Schools since 2008.  A program priority is to see youth graduate from high school and to pursue even more education or training.  For more information on the Council Bluffs TeamMates program, click on
